A constructive proof of intuitive chance by means of a line scratched in time

Handcoated emulsion on paper
What is a miracle? It is perhaps a chance that can’t be foreseen by the laws of probability, an anarchic event. intuitive chance is an effort to think the miraculous in our contemporary world and to do so in a way that is equally accessible to everyone.
With a random walk algorithm, a course was plotted covering every street in Manhattan. The course was then followed and deviated from according to the intuition of the moment. Starting from probabilistic chance, this experiment was an attempt to unravel it and reach a chance that can’t be fixed or tamed by the laws of probability. The course took eleven years to complete. A large-format negative was exposed all along this course, the cumulative exposure lasting approximately ten days. The final work is a single print on paper handcoated with emulsion.
This work forms a duo with the series walkies.
